♥️💙👊🏻Mt Eliza Football Netball Club has secured back-to-back grand final appearances after holding off a fast-finishing Frankston Ycw Stonecats by six points in a heart-stopping preliminary final at Eric Bell Reserve.

The Redlegs prevailed 10.13 (73) to 9.13 (67) in a contest that had everything — momentum swings, big moments, and a nail-biting finish. Christopher Carey was again immense in the ruck, feeding midfield stars Fletcher Bayne and Damian Mascitti, while Declan Cole and Thomas Kelly provided drive and composure. Up forward, Lachlan Williams and Will Antonie made the most of limited opportunities. Bob was incharge both in tha air and on the ground across back.

For YCW, Max Gregory was outstanding, Luca Goonan battled tirelessly through the midfield, and Cameron Owen gave his all in the ruck. Patrick Bloink and Brenton Lambert added drive and scoring chances, keeping the Stonecats in the hunt with a 7 goal to nil final quarter before final siren sounded. Some early misses in the last quarter also placed extra pressure.

On completion of the match a guard of honour was formed to retiring YCW star Byron Barry. A player that truly defined the YCW and MPFNL Spirit.

In the end, Mt Eliza’s composure in the clutch moments proved the difference. Had it gone another 5 minutes we'll never know.
